PTI's Make it Monday #97 - Take 2

As mentioned in my previous post, this week's MIM for PTI is a review of all of the MIM video tutorials from the past year.  We were invited to post a project using one of these techniques.  For this second creation, I used the technique demonstrated by Dawn McVey in MIM #48, "Creating Backgrounds With Border Dies."  While the background that I created does not cover the whole card front, I think I am still demonstrating this technique.  What do you think?

I used this card as part of a hostess gift I took to a friend who had us over for an impromptu dinner.  I really love how it turned out!

Thanks for visiting!

PTI Make it Monday #97

This week, PTI's Make it Monday was a review of all the MIM videos that have been posted this year.  We were invited to post a project that highlighted one of the demonstrated techniques.  I have chosen to post a card that I made right after watching the original posting of MIM #74, "Stamping on Texture."  I actually made this card planning to participate in that week's challenge, however I never got around to posting it.  Believe it or not, I actually gave this card to my husband tonight for his birthday.  So, here's my creation:

It is very subtle, but I actually used the wood plank stamp from the Background Basics: Farm & Barn set to stamp on the background that I had embossed using an embossing folder from Quick Kutz.  You can see the technique demonstrated a bit better in this view:

By the way, the inside of the card reads, "Your age!  Happy Birthday!"

Thank you so much for visiting!

PTI December Blog Hop - Take 2

Hi 'yall!  This is my second entry in the PTI December Blog Hop.  After cuting out the "leaf" shapes with the Sending You die for my first card, I had a bunch of little "leaf" shapes left over and thought I would use them to create a second card.

PTI Make-it-Monday - Bleach Technique

Hi friends!  Well, I wanted to play along with this Monday's PTI MIM, which involves a pretty cool bleach and ink technique.  I'm not sure that the card I made is what Nichole had in mind when she explained the technique (I think you're actually supposed to stamp on the bleached image), but I really like how this one turned out.  You'll see that this card features stars yet again.  If you flip through my blog, you will see that I'm sort of a star fanatic...funny that I didn't even know this about myself until I started making cards!

Here's my take:

PTI July 2012 Blog Hop

Hi everyone!  Well, it's a pool day around here, but before we head off, I thought I'd post my entry for the PTI July Blog Hop.  Here's the inspiration photo from Nichole Heady's blog:

To be perfectly honest, I was most inspired by the circles to the right of the picture.  After thinking about those circles for a little while, here's what I came up with:
