Owl Hello Card

What a day!  Major computer problems last night.  I'm happy to say that they have been resolved.  Since I couldnt get on the computer last night, I actually made two cards and a VIDEO!!  I'm not quite ready to post the video yet, so look for that in an upcoming post.

One of the cards I made last night was this owl card.  I just love all the owls I have been seeing on cards lately and I wanted to do one myself.  I was inspired by the papers I chose and let them dictate the card.  I added some texture with the Cuttlebug (which I am trying to use more these days).  Hope you like it!

Pen holder and wall hanging

For Christmas I wanted to give my new little niece something special, so I made her this cute little wall hanging for her room.  Her mom collects elephants with their trunks up because this is a symbol of good luck, and it is something that her mother passed on to her.  When I saw this paper it was screaming for a project for little Anna Faye!  I used the Storybook cart to cut out the A, and to make the flower in the upper left-hand corner, I used several layers of a flower I cut out using the Winter Woodland cart.  I think the effect of layering regular card stock with vellum turned out pretty good!

The second project featured here is a tin that I decorated to hold all of my gel pens.  I received a tin of peppermint hot chocolate this Christmas and I held onto the can because I just knew I could do something with it!  I covered it in paper and made some glittery letters to go on the front.  I love it!  It just makes me smile!

Thanks for visiting!  Have a great day!

Some recent cards

I love making cards for a reason and I love making cards for no reason at all!!  Four of the cards below were actually made to give away for specific occasions.  Surprisingly, each was made pretty quickly!

I have been having fun playing with texture and patterns lately and I am really enjoying the results!

Hope you like them!

Have a great day!

My very first post!!

I am so excited!!  This is my very first post on my very fist blog!  As it says in my blog description, I love to make cards, but the only time I seem to have to do so is on the fly...hence, Cards on the Fly!

I actually do have a craft room, which is such a luxury since my husband doesn't have a dedicated room in our house for the things that he loves to do.  So I feel a little self indulgent claiming a whole room for myself.  However, being the only girl in the house, sometimes I just need a little place to get away from all the testosterone!

I have been pretty busy making a few cards lately and I thought that I would share them with you here.  Hope you like them!!  Please feel free to share work that you have done as well!  I'm always inspired by what other people come up with!

Thanks for visiting!
