Papertrey Ink January Blog Hop - Take Two

Ok, here's my second entry in today's PTI Blog Hop - challenge black backgrounds.

For this one I wanted a really feminine look, so I created a sort of doily outline using a stamp from PTI's Mat Stack 5 collection and embossing it in white.  I'm not really loving the placement of the semi-circle, but it'll have to do.

By the way, the inside of the card says, "I'm sorry I missed your birthday!"

Thanks for visiting!  One more entry in the hop on the way!

Paper: PTI's Black, Spring Rain and Vintage Cream
Stamps: PTI's Mat Stack 5 Collection, and Glory Be
Ink: PTI's True Black and Versamark
Dies: PTI's Mat Stack 5, Butterfly Die and Signature Series Butterfly Die
Other: Zing Embossing Powder in White and a Pearl Embellishment from my stash

  1. Wow! The details in that white embossing is amazing!

  2. Oh mercy, I love how your created your own doily frame from that one little stamp, what a great idea!! And that vintage cream on the powder blue is just heavenly ... great combo!!

  3. LOVE that embossed doily frame you created! WOW!

  4. Your fabulous circular frame really sets this card apart. I would have never thought to use that element to make a border, but it's stunning. (I bought that Mat Stack #5, just so I could have the ornaments!) You photographed your card perfectly. Did you do anything special to make the black so deep? Even Your shadows are beautiful.

Thanks for taking the time to share.

  5. I love the doily element that you created on the card and how it sets off the mat and butterfly! And wonderful sentiment too! Gorgeous!!!!

  6. I love this, especially with that pop of blue!

  7. The way you used that stamp to frame your matted sentiment was wonderful. Never would have thought of that. Great colors too.

  8. Brilliant way to create a doily image!!

  9. Love the detailed doily image, the overall design and colour scheme is very soft and feminine.

  10. Gorgeous! Love the embossing, and that light blue is perfect.
