Goodies

Hey everyone!!  I'm so excited!!  I just have to share this with you!  I went to a scrapbook yard sale this morning and got tons of goodies really cheap!  I purchased everything you see in the picture (60 pages of double sided 12x12 cardstock, 6 magazines, eight packages of brads, marquee chipboard album kit, two packages of buttons, two packages of picks, a bunch of rubons, two stamps, and a bunch of other stuff)  for $33!!  This would have been about $200 retail!  I visit Craigslist just about everyday to see what art and craft supplies might be for sale, and the other day these two ladies were advertising this scrapbooking "yard sale."  They said that they would have tons of stuff for sale, and they weren't kidding!  I can't wait to use all of my new stuff!

I hope you're having a great weekend!  Thanks for visiting!

Fleur de Lis

Hey everyone!  I find it so crazy that when I sit down to make something, I generally have no idea what I'm going to do.  Occasionally I'll have an idea when I start, but many times I just have to start with a piece of paper and go searching through my room to find stamps, cuts, ribbons, etc. to even start my creation.  When I started tonight's card, I knew that I was making a card for my brother's birthday, and I knew I wanted to use the argyle paper in the background, but the rest was a mystery.  The process that unfolds as I create is always so cool to me in the end.  I really hope that my brother likes this creation!

FYI - The fleur de lis was cut from Home Decor and the marquee was cut from Storybook.

As always, thanks so much for visiting!!

White Owl

Hi everyone!  I just threw together a quick card for my friend Harriet.  I had actually planned to give her a different one from my stash, but I came up with this idea over the weekend and I think it's perfect for her.  The owl and branch were cut from Create a Critter.  Thanks for looking!

Little Soccer Girl

Hey everyone!!  This past week was Spring Break for us, which meant trips to a friend's house, the movies, the zoo, a park, the science center, and time with out-of-town family!  It was a really busy week, but it was so good to have time to re-connect with my boys.  I love watching them have fun!  Now it's time to get my house back in order and get back to the regular routine!

A few weeks ago, my dear friend Allison asked me to create a series of cards to be framed in her daughter's room.  The room has a soccer theme, and her daughter is just the cutest little blonde thing you've ever seen!  I really hope that they enjoy what I've created!  I used plain cardstock for the whole project and used cuts from the Everyday Paperdolls, Paper Doll Dress Up, Create a Critter, and Wild Card carts.  Let me know what you think!

Ferris Wheel

Hi everyone!  I have a question...is it wrong to LOVE paper?  I love paper so much that I sometimes find myself dreaming of patterns in my sleep!  I find that certain papers can change my mood, just like certain songs on the raido do!  I  feel the same way about fabric too.  I was in the fabric store the other day and it felt like I was walking among huge sheets of gorgeous colored and patterned paper.  It honestly felt like heaven.  Whenever I'm in the fabric store I wish that I had a great big mansion so that I could dedicate a room to each great fabric and color combination I see!

Anyway, I sat down tonight completely uninspired until I pulled out a pack of paper I purchased recently.  This particular pack is by Stella and Rose, the Hattie Papers.  The paper in this stack is actually pretty masculine, which is great because I am surrounded by boys in this life and I constantly need boy cards!   I was at Michaels the other day and found a really cute $1 stamp of a ferris wheel.  I decided that these two things, the paper and the stamp, were going to be the jumping off point for tonight's card.

So here's what I came up with.  In case you're wondering, the marquee in the background is from the Storybook cart page 68.

As always, thanks so much for visiting!!
